Shaheed Bhagat Singh College, named after the great son of India, Shaheed-e-Azam , Sardar Bhagat Singh, was established as a co-educational college in 1967 as a constituent college of University of Delhi. The college is a premier institution in the field of education. National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) have accredited the college with A Grade with a CGPA of 3.26. The college is highly vibrant with a dedicated faculty well known in their respective fields of specialization. The faculty not only support students in meeting their educational requirements but simultaneously provides guidance to students in extracurricular and other activities. Innovative teaching strategies are substantiated with project work, field research, case studies, educational excursions, conclave, and career advancement programs.

The college provides a platform for the exchange of ideas and promotes building up of thought and vision. In 2016-17, the institution celebrated its Golden Jubilee year. The college has been striving hard to promoting students to achieve excellence in the field of sports, debates, drama,fine arts and music. The college has many vibrant and dynamic societies that provide opportunities to students with the prime motive of enhancing their skills as an individual and for overall holistic development. With an aim to promote participation of students at national and International level many conferences and seminars are being regularly organized. The college is also associated with World Wildlife Fund for environmental awareness. Entrepreneurship Cell has collaborated with PM Yuva Yojana and Skill India to promote skill development. With an aim of global outreach, International Coordination and Development Programme is rendering a great opportunity to students for exploring options at the global level.
